MINGALAR MANDALAY HOTEL

Originally developed in partnership with Pullman Hotels, the property was envisioned as a world-class hospitality destination in Mandalay. However, following Myanmar’s political transition, Pullman exited the market, leaving Mingalar Mandalay with the challenge of launching a luxury hotel without the global brand it was built around. To establish a new identity while preserving the standards and prestige of a five-star destination, Mingalar Mandalay partnered with BEYOND 360 to create a brand worthy of the property’s ambition.

CHALLENGE

The challenge extended far beyond renaming a hotel. The property had been designed, built, and positioned around the expectations of an international luxury hospitality brand. Without Pullman, Mingalar Mandalay needed a completely new identity that could maintain the perception of luxury, trust, and world-class hospitality while establishing its own distinctive presence in the market.

SOLUTION

BEYOND 360 began by immersing ourselves in the hotel’s architecture, materials, guest experience, and operational vision. Through an intensive brand strategy workshop involving key stakeholders, including ownership, executive leadership, and the marketing team, we defined the foundations of the new brand before any visual design work began.
Drawing inspiration from the hotel’s monumental entrance pillars, we developed a distinctive “M” monogram that embodies strength, elegance, and permanence. Combined with a refined gold palette and a sophisticated visual system, the identity reflects the grandeur of the property while creating a unique luxury brand rooted in Mandalay itself.

RESULT

The new identity successfully established the hotel as a standalone luxury destination while preserving the level of prestige expected from an internationally branded five-star property. The architectural inspiration behind the logo created an immediate connection between the brand and the physical experience of the hotel, while the refined visual system elevated its market presence. Today, the brand stands as one of Mandalay’s premier hospitality destinations, proving that a strong strategy and distinctive identity can transform uncertainty into opportunity.
